The Boys’ Brigade

Our company runs a combined Company & Senior Section

Company Section Primary 7 to Secondary 3

Senior Section Secondary 4 to Age 18.

We meet in the church hall on a Monday evening from 7:45pm to 9:30pm

Activities include :

Drill , Team Games , Arts and Crafts, Gymnastics , Sports eg Football , Basketball

The company section use the BB Discover award scheme. Boys take part in activites under 3 headings :

Skills , Community and Recreation.

Points are awarded for activities successfully completed and badges are awarded when the required

number of points have been reached. At the end of their S3 year once boys have completed their

badgework , they can gain their Presidents Badge. Once they have completed this , they can work for

and gain the highest badge in the Boys’ Brigade the Queen’s Badge.

This session we have 5 boys.

At our Parents Night the prize for Best All Round Boy was presented to L/Cpl Darren Sheppard

and the Best Recruit Prize was presented to Pte Michael Gardiner

Our company has a Joint Pipe Band with the 94th Glasgow. The band did not enter any band competitions this

session due to lack of numbers but both L/Cpl Darren Sheppard and Pte Callum Clark won medals in the

Glasgow Battalion Solo Drumming & Piping competitions.
